This was painted during Arts and Culture Colwood Society’s Insight Festival. The festival offers artists the chance to take part in a plein air competition. I’m pleased to say my piece won the Juror’s 2nd Place prize!

When I sat down to paint this subdued landscape it seemed devoid of animal life. It was a very chilly day and even the birds seemed to be hiding. Until…I saw in the distance a pair of bald eagles. Clearly they had an excellent vantage point from which to hunt for lunch!

Froggy
I painted beside a relaxing pond towards the end of summer. This little frog sat still for the longest time. I like to think she was preparing for the long sleep ahead.
