Sometimes I have to sit for some time before inspiration strikes. This day was like that. It was cold and a little dull out. I was grumpy! I stayed with the feelings and let Mother Nature work her magic on me. After about a half hour I felt moved to paint this Oregon Grape in all her glory!

One evening in early April this gorgeous sunset presented itself. I quickly took a photo and worked with it the next day in the studio.

A glorious view of daffodils at Viaduct Flats.
I had to get muddy boots to paint this one, but it was worth it!
