My sister-in-law identified this as Ribes sanguineum (aka King Edward VII Flowering Currant). I hear that hummingbirds love them; I have greatly enjoyed their scent and their beauty.

Al Kirkwood - behind him is the dory he brought up from the bottom of the Selkirk Waterway. He traced its history back to Atlantic Canada. It's old - he fixed it up and is now in the process of adding a mast.
